Choice of primary state option

The primary state can either be considered by fictitious primary internal forces (old obsolete procedure) or by primary stresses defined for individual stress points in the action TempVar. The here specified switch is only relevant when the option "Include Primary TempVar effects" is set in the Recalc pad.

SettingDescription
Create primary strain plane Old obsolete procedure with creating fictitious primary internal forces will be adopted. The stress calculation will in any case be correct for stress points where primary stresses are defined, because these stresses are defined as an addition to the fictitious stress due to fictitious internal forces. However, internal forces will be wrong and require tricky manipulation (elimination of primary part) when used in later procedures (combinations, force based proof checks).
Create only primary stresses Primary stresses will be individually considered for all stress points where the "Store" option has been set. No fictitious primary forces will be created. However, stress points with the option "Store results for stress-point" have essentially to be defined for all points where stresses including primary part shall be calculated, also for the top and bottom edge points.
